書名：The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans, 使徒保羅給羅馬人的信

定義：

（一）The Epistle 那信：a written message 寫下的信息（神給我們寫下的信息就是聖經）

• 聖經中第一次出現Epistle，是在基督徒起首之地安提阿（使徒行傳Acts 11:26)

使徒行傳(Acts) 15:30 他們既奉了差遣，就下安提阿去，聚集眾人，交付書信。

15:30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

15:31 眾人念了，因為信上安慰的話就歡喜了。

15:31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

（二） The Romans 羅馬人: All that be in Rome 所有在羅馬的 （羅1:7）；You that are at Rome 你們在羅馬的（羅1:15）。

保羅進一步定義：蒙召屬耶穌基督的、為神所愛、奉召作聖徒的。

羅馬書(Romans) 1:6 其中也有你們這蒙召屬耶穌基督的人。

1:6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

1:7 我寫信給你們在羅馬、為神所愛、奉召作聖徒的眾人。願恩惠、平安從我們的父神並主耶穌基督歸與你們！

1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

• 聖經中第一次出顯“Romans 羅馬人”：在耶穌行了好些神蹟後要信他的，也是讓猶太人怕會來奪他們的地和國的。

約翰福音(John) 11:47 祭司長和法利賽人聚集公會，說：「這人行好些神蹟，我們怎麼辦呢？

11:47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

11:48 若這樣由着他，人人都要信他，羅馬人也要來奪我們的地土和我們的百姓。」

11:48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

（三）使徒 Apostle: a delegate, messenger, 代表，信使

• 信息來自耶穌基督（The Word)；保羅是信使（羅1:1）；代筆寫信的是德提。

提摩太後書(2 Timothy) 3:16 聖經都是神所默示的（或譯：凡神所默示的聖經），於教訓、督責、使人歸正、教導人學義都是有益的，

3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

羅馬書(Romans) 1:1 耶穌基督的僕人保羅，奉召為使徒，特派傳神的福音。

1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

羅馬書(Romans) 16:22 我這代筆寫信的德提，在主裏面問你們安。

16:22 I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord.

德提 Tertius: 泰耶字典：Tertius = “第三”

(四）保羅Paul: 泰耶字典：Paul 或 Paulus = “小的”或“微不足道的”

保羅原名Saul：舊約希伯來文H7586和新約希臘文G4569 的字同義：泰耶字典：Saul = “渴望的”

羅馬書(Romans) 1:1 耶穌基督的僕人保羅，奉召為使徒，特派傳神的福音。

1:2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

（是神從前藉眾先知在聖經上所應許的，）

• 神從前藉先知撒母耳的預言：撒母耳記上(1 Samuel) 10:1 撒母耳拿瓶膏油倒在掃羅的頭上，與他親嘴，說：「這不是耶和華膏你作他產業的君嗎？10:1 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance? （Captan 也是船長的意思）

• 保羅的定義：羅馬書(Romans) 1:1 耶穌基督的僕人保羅，奉召為使徒，特派傳神的福音。

• 耶穌基督給保羅的定義：他是我所揀選的器皿，要在外邦人和君王，並以色列人面前宣揚我的名。

使徒行傳(Acts) 9:15 主對亞拿尼亞說：「你只管去！他是我所揀選的器皿，要在外邦人和君王，並以色列人面前宣揚我的名。

9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

(五）保羅所傳的信息：The gospel of God 神的福音

羅馬書(Romans) 1:1 耶穌基督的僕人保羅，奉召為使徒，特派傳神的福音。

1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

• 他傳信息的方式：I serve with my spirit 用靈事奉；往你們那裏去 to come unto you.

羅馬書(Romans) 1:9 我在他兒子福音上，用心靈所事奉的神可以見證，我怎樣不住地提到你們；

1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

1:10 在禱告之間常常懇求，或者照神的旨意，終能得平坦的道路往你們那裏去。

1:10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

約翰福音(John) 14:16 我要求父，父就另外賜給你們一位保惠師（或譯：訓慰師；下同），叫他永遠與你們同在，

14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

14:26 但保惠師，就是父因我的名所要差來的聖靈，他要將一切的事指教你們，並且要叫你們想起我對你們所說的一切話。

14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

羅馬書(Romans) 1:12 這樣，我在你們中間，因你與我彼此的信心，就可以同得安慰。

1:12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
